AI Tools for Customer Support Teams: 8 Tools With Verified Prices, From Ticketing to AI Agents
The job behind the price tags
A support team does not buy software. It buys a way through the queue: tickets answered, chats picked up, and repeat questions handled without making a customer wait. AI tools for customer support teams now sell that work in two units — a seat for a person, and a resolution, session, or conversation for an AI agent. Every price here was checked on the vendor’s own site on 2 November 2026.
Read the unit before the number: a low seat price can still cost more once AI resolutions are added.

The 8 tools, priced on the vendor’s own pages
This guide continues the profession series: AI tools for real estate agents, AI tools for teachers, and AI tools for accountants.
1. Zendesk
Support Team is $19 per agent per month paid yearly ($25 monthly). Suite Team is $55 ($69), Suite Professional is $115 ($149), and Suite Enterprise with Copilot is talk-to-sales pricing. Copilot costs $50 per agent per month paid yearly as an add-on; the Workforce Engagement Bundle is $50 and Contact Center is $83. A trial link was shown, but no trial length was stated, so none is claimed. The startups programme offers a six-month Suite trial for up to 50 agents. Features include email ticketing, omnichannel routing, a knowledge base, and AI agents in more than 80 languages.
2. Intercom
Prices are stated in US dollars. Essential is $29 per seat on annual billing and $39 on monthly billing; Advanced is $85 and $99, and Expert is $132 and $139. The Fin AI Agent costs from $0.99 per Fin outcome on all plans. Lite seats included are none on Essential, 20 on Advanced, and 50 on Expert. The 14-day free trial needs no credit card and covers the chosen plan plus Fin and add-ons. No permanent free plan was stated. Features include a shared inbox, ticketing, and a public help center, with Workflows and a multilingual help center on Advanced, and SSO, SLAs, and workload management on Expert.
3. Freshdesk
Growth is $19 per agent per month, Pro is $55, and Enterprise is $89, shown as billed annually. Monthly equivalents were not rendered, so they are not used here. The 14-day trial gives Enterprise access; if not continued, the account is suspended, and no free plan was stated. The Freddy AI Agent includes the first 500 sessions once per account on all three plans, with extra sessions at $49 per 100. Freddy AI Copilot is a $29 per agent per month add-on for Pro and Enterprise. Features include ticketing, a customer portal and knowledge base, and skill-based routing.

4. Help Scout
Standard is $25 per user per month, Plus is $45, and Pro is $75. Envoy, the AI add-on, is $0.75 per resolution. Monthly equivalents were not rendered, so they are not claimed here. The free plan covers up to 5 users, 1 inbox, 1 Docs site, and 100 contacts per month. Standard and Plus offer a 15-day free trial with no credit card; a Pro trial goes through sales, and new accounts get a three-month free trial of AI Answers resolutions. Features include multiple inboxes, live chat, Docs knowledge bases, and an AI Inbox assistant, with user caps of 25 on Standard, 50 on Plus, and unlimited on Pro (minimum 10).
5. Front
Starter is $25 per seat per month for up to 10 seats, Professional is $65 for up to 50 seats, and Enterprise is $105. Prices are billed annually, saving 24%; monthly rates were not rendered. Neither a free plan nor a trial length was rendered, so neither is claimed. Starter is single-channel, while Professional and Enterprise add omnichannel email, SMS, social, and WhatsApp. Features include a shared inbox with ticketing, AI Topics, and automation rules at 10, 20, and unlimited by plan. Autopilot starts from $0.05 per conversation; Copilot is $20 per seat per month for Starter and Professional and included in Enterprise.
6. LiveChat, now sold as Text plans
Prices are stated in US dollars, before tax. Essential is $19 per user per month billed annually ($228 per year) or $25 monthly; Growth is $79 billed annually ($948 per year) or $99 monthly; Enterprise is custom. The 14-day free trial on Essential and Growth needs no credit card, gives the full plan, and charges nothing automatically at expiry. No permanent free plan was stated. Essential includes 1 AI Agent and 10 AI resolutions per month; Growth includes 10 AI Agents and 200 AI resolutions per month. Extra AI-resolution packs cost $49.50 for 50. Caveat: this page sells Text plans for new trials; legacy LiveChat plans are separate for existing customers, so Text prices are not legacy prices.
7. Crisp
Crisp charges a flat price per workspace per month: Free $0, Mini $45, Essentials $95, Plus $295, and Enterprise at unique or custom pricing. Additional agents cost $10 per month on Plus only. Included AI credits are $0 on Free, $5 on Mini (about 90 automated conversations), $25 on Essentials (about 450), and $75 on Plus (about 1,350). Any plan can be tried free for 14 days. The free plan includes 2 seats, a website chat widget, and a shared inbox, with no AI credits; seats are 2, 4, 10, and 20+, in plan order. Features include an omnichannel inbox on Essentials and above, an AI chatbot with AI knowledge training, and a knowledge base. No yearly rate was rendered.
8. Tidio
Starter is $24.17 per month, Growth is from $49.17 per month, and Plus is from $300 per month plus monthly usage; Premium pricing requires contacting Tidio. The billing period for $24.17 and $49.17 was not stated, so none is claimed. The free 7-day trial needs no credit card, and the account downgrades to the Free plan unless upgraded. Every account starts with 50 Lyro conversations, a one-off allowance, not a monthly one; the Free plan’s dollar figure was not rendered, so it is not stated. Features include live chat and ticketing, the Lyro AI Agent, and drag-and-drop Flows automation, with up to 10 agents on self-serve plans.

Privacy: what each vendor page did — and did not — say
Identifying customer data never goes into a public AI tool. Tickets contain names, order details, addresses, and account information, which must stay inside approved systems.
Three vendor pages stated a relevant stance. Intercom listed HIPAA support as an Expert feature. Help Scout’s Pro plan includes HIPAA compliance, and its FAQ states that HIPAA allows safely storing protected health information (PHI) in Help Scout. LiveChat stated “SOC 2 Type 2–audited security with GDPR and CCPA compliance.” The pricing pages for Zendesk, Freshdesk, Front, Crisp, and Tidio stated no relevant privacy stance. “None stated” means only that the fetched page said nothing relevant, not that the vendor has no privacy policy.
How to choose without comparing unlike prices
Start with the AI-agent unit. Intercom and Help Scout price AI work per outcome or per resolution, Freshdesk counts Freddy work in sessions, LiveChat counts AI resolutions per month, Crisp counts AI credits, and Front’s Autopilot starts from a per-conversation price. AI helpdesk software pricing 2026 and AI agent customer support pricing are only comparable when billing period, seat/workspace unit, and AI unit are stated together. Claude Duet is a different, proactive agent product, not a helpdesk AI agent, so its role and pricing should not be mixed into this comparison.
Use the trial to test routing, knowledge-base answers, AI-to-person handoff, and reporting. Check caps before committing — seats, inboxes, contacts, and included AI work all limit a plan that looks complete.
Key Takeaways
- All eight prices come from the vendors’ own pages on 2 November 2026; dropped figures were left out.
- Seat prices run from $19 per agent or user per month to $132 on Intercom Expert, while Crisp charges per workspace and Tidio’s billing period was not stated.
- AI work is charged per resolution, outcome, session, or conversation — check the unit before choosing on price.
- Trials run 7 to 15 days where stated; only Help Scout and Crisp stated a free plan in the verified pool.
- Only Intercom, Help Scout, and LiveChat stated a relevant compliance stance on the fetched pages; the other five stated none.
Conclusion
The decision is not which tool has the lowest starting price. It is which bundle matches the team’s channels, ticket volume, and AI workload, and which trial proves routing, knowledge base, and handoff with real tickets. Compare seat/workspace price with the AI unit, and test before committing.
